"Nota's GlenDronach"
Hidden deep in the Higland hills, The GlenDronach Distillery has been quietly perfecting sherry wood maturation since 1826.
Our founder, James Allardice, built his distillery in the fertile landscape of the Forgue valley and named it GlenDronach, which means 'valley of the brambles' in Scots Gaelic. Here, he discovered the rich depths of sherry wood maturation, marrying Scottish spirit to Spanish cask. Little has changed over the centuries, as our craftsmen use the same mash tun, wooden washbacks and swan-necked pot stills as their forefathers did.
This expression is presented as natural cask strength, as was the custom before the turn of the 20th century. Add a drop or two of water to reveal a cornucopia of flavours - from dark cherry to honeyed sultana and lingering ginger jam. Such is the reward of our tenth batch of The GlenDronach Cask Stregnth, a richly sherried Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in fine Pedo Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks.
